Constantly traveling and touring the, Jay Hansen, the 23-year-old Long Island, N.Y. troubadour has been acclaimed to “sing like a 40-year-old-blues-rocker… (Rafer Guzman, Newsday). From playing in living rooms to coffee shops, to clubs and colleges, as well as selling out theaters, Jay’s “confident, soulful and romantically sophisticated arrangements and rhythmic verses” have been heard widely across the country.
This young, accomplished artist has already independently released two albums, “Turn” and “Within This Process of Adaptation”, which have sold thousands of copies each and have been featured on televisions shows such as “Dawson’s Creek” and MTV’s “Real World Philidelphia” and “Real World Road Rules Challenge” in addition to many commercial and radio stations. His debut album, “Turn” was produced with two-time Grammy Award Winning Producer, John Rollo (Jimmy Cliff, Eric Clapton, The Kinks…) Jay has become a prominent name in the college circuit throughout his five-years of touring the country and is currently working on extending his compelling words of passion, rage, self-reflection and intuition through working with Boots Ottested, former lead singer of the Get Away People (Columbia Records). Boots Ottestad has worked with Robbie Williams, Tim McGraw… and is currently is working with up and coming artists, like cooper and the billionaire boys club) The resonating sound is an eclectic blend of a fresh, alternative, acoustic, jazzy/blues, hip hop funk…. Vividly painting a picture with each word, a story is created through a compilation of uniquely melodic sounds.
