What is Jeri Curl?
1.
not cornrow style hair. It was used by african americans, such as michael jackson, in the 80's and looked like small curls that were completely doused in hair gel
2.
A hairstyle where the hair is chemically straightened and then hair rollers are used to roll the hair to form a new curl pattern. The new larger curl pattern is locked into the hair by another chemical. The resulting style gives the wearer the appearance of large curls and body. However, the style requires the heavy use of an oil product called activator. This activator gives the hair a greasy and oftentimes wet appearance that is seen as undesirable.
Michael Jackson wore a Jeri Curl in the 1980's and the oil in it caught on fire while he taped a commercial.
