n. Someone who displays an unusual or embarrasing amount of enthusiasm for Jesus.

This term was first used in the 1960's in reference to the growing movement of radical, unconventional Christians who often displayed hippie leanings.

Talks freely to many people about their beliefs.

A self-professed Christian who labors under the mistaken impression that Christians are persecuted in this country, and that he or she is commonly persecuted for his or her beliefs. These people usually attempt to convert everyone they know or meet to their own denomination of "born again" Christianity, thereby alienating a number of non-Christians as well as Christians of denominations not of their own, then attribute their subsequent shunning by society to a fictitious, widespread anti-Christian mania.

Josh: "Hi, my name is Josh, and I'm a Jesus freak."

6: is a born-again christian and/or fundamentalist

every time i see that jesus freak walking around with his "god will save, the end is near" sign, i want to convert to satanism just so i can sacrifice him.

A person who supports and believes in Christianity, often to the degree where it's overwhelming, irritating, and even creepy. Some pass out pamphlets promoting God or Christ, plead with you to come to church, and sport stickers or T-shirts promoting their God, whom they've never seen physical proof of. Sometimes they'll even try to force their beliefs on you, so if you're an atheist, beware.

Jesus freak: "Come to church, it won't hurt. Jesus loves you. He died for your sins."

Person: "Well, have you actually seen Jesus or God?"

Jesus freak: "Um, no, but he talks to me in my dreams."

Person: "Uhh... yeah. Piss off, you creep."
