Jewrosis

What is Jewrosis?

1.

A particular form of neurosis in which a person compulsively feels and expresses self-loathing and guilt simply because of their own Jewish identity, while similarly perceiving persecution and the hatred of most others for the same reason. These Jewrotics commonly blame historical prejudices (however far-removed) as well as their own upbringing, especially from the stereotypical self-esteem-bashing and guilt-placing by Jewish mothers. This Jewrotic (or jeurotic) behavior is best exemplified by the comedy act of Richard Lewis.

Woody Allen humorously acknowledges his own Jewrosis in his film "Annie Hall," in which he perceives the simple question "D'you eat?" (Did you eat?) as the racial slur "D'Jew eat?"
