J-pop/rock

What is J-pop/rock?

1.

A genre of Japanese (hence the "J") music that incorporates characteristics of both J-rock and J-pop. Similar to " Pop Rock" in that the music emphasizes lyrics, has a catchy melody, but has guitar-driven music. It often, but not always, covers less "bubble gum" topics in favor of more sophisticated, socially influenced topics.
