To hang out with friends but do nothing since there is nothing better to do. Often leads to general mischief.
Person A: "Hey, what are you guys doing?"
Person B: "Ah, not much. we're just junking around."
Person A: "Oh. Hey, wanna go set off some firecrackers?"
