the term refered to an extremely drunk guy looking at a very unattractive girl, and getting the impression of her being very attractive due to the alcohol, sort of like looking through a kaleidoscope.
Joe: A check out that dude over there talking to that huge whale at the bar
Shmoe: yea he's been kaliedoscopin her all night, he needs to lay of the alcohol
