What is Karotte?

German word for "carrot".
But also it is an universal word for s. th. that fails in germany. E.g. "to get the mitten".
Sometimes you can also say "Möhre".
- Karotte, that was the wrong turn.
- That girl gaves me a Karotte, she didn´t want to go out with me.
- Person 1: Hey dude! How was the test yesterday?
Person 2: A big Karotte dude!!
