The word is used to best describe a situation that could have been good(like cake) but turned out to be complete and utter crap(like kife). The word originated from the online game Counter-Strike when an individuals death seemed like "t0t@1 n3wb B5!!1!" or like that indivual deserved to kill his/her opponent.
