Kobayashi's Law

What is Kobayashi's Law?

1.

That for a given number of identically made socks being lost to the Sock Gnome, the value of each sock losy except for the 2nd to last sock is minimal, whereas the value of the 2nd to last sock's value is close to infinite.

John had 8 Black identical socks. The Sock Gnome gradually stole 6 of them over the course of time. John didn't care that much because he still had a working pair; however, once John lost the 2nd to last sock, the remaining sock was virtually useless, by Kobayashi's Law.

QED.
