a sarcastic name for the final gathering of a religious sect on which they all commit suicide by drinking poison usually mixed with some kind of water-soluble fruit drink (not specifically Kool-Aid), perhaps to soften the taste. They all drink poison, lay down and die.
The jonestown massacre was one hell of a kool aid party.
