What is Lapadat?

A type of oil found on the outside of basil leaves in the south central part of Boa Vista, Brazil. This oil is extemely rare and can be worth thosands of US dollars for a mL. Lapadat is well know for its consistency, distinct color and taste and is only used in the worlds most expensive resturants around the world.
The chef carefully added lapadat to a spice saffron salad topping and brought out the dish with a bottle of Krug Clos du Mesnil. The entree went for over $4000 US dollars
