What is Lenta?

Street term used mainly by Puerto Ricans to describe heroin. Translated, it means "slow", thus named for the properties of heroin which cause the user to have delayed or slow reactions and the subsequent nodding or swaying
"Tenemos pasto (weed), perico (coke) y la lenta (heroin)."
"I only use la lenta to help me fall asleep."
