Legged, wingless dragon. The English word is derived from the mythical beast Lindormen (the Linden Snake) in Scandinavian Mythology, who was fought and captured by the Thor, the god of thunder, lightning, heavy drinking, short temper and so on and so forth. The Lindworm were doomed to ever lie wrapped around the earth biting it's own tail. On the day of the Ragnarok (the end of the world as we know it) that slimy snake is gonna wriggle itself free and kill Thor as revenge. And then we'll all die.

- Thor really kicked that Lindworm's ass the other day.
