"Man, I'm going to the Live 8 in Barrie."

"Where the hell is Barrie?"

"It's like 40 minutes from Toronto"

"Oh, you mean the Near-Toronto Live 8, right on."

"So you're going to Live 8, eh? Do you think the G-8 will change anything?"

"What the hell is G-8?"

2.

An attempt by celebrities trying to act like politicians and act like they know what they are talking about by throwing concerts and signing petititions that are going to try to make the G8 summit eradicate world poverty which is what they really want to do but it is impossible. So I say, let the people who know what they are doing figure it out. 90% of the people who sign the petition have no idea what they are doing. Sure, it's a good cause but I am afraid people do not know the whole story.

The Live 8 concert will be simultaneuosly be shown in the 8 G8 countries for a cause that we aren't even sure what it will do!

3.

A series of concerts hosted worldwide for the G8 leaders to stop poverty in Africa. They were hosted in Rome, Italy; Philadelhia, USA; Hyde Park, UK; Toronto, Canada; Berlin, Germany; Moscow, Russia; and Tokyo, Japan on July 2nd, 2005.

This was brought together by Bob Geldof, the same man who organized Live Aid 20 years ago.

The purpose was to bring attention to the horrible poverty conditions in Africa where 30,000 children die a day due to cureable diseases. Geldof is also asking the G8 leaders to cancel Africa's debt and to let them decide their future, as well as raising their aid.

Popular bands such as Coldplay, Green Day, Pink Floyd, U2, Paul McCartney, Crosby Stills Nash, and Neil Young performed, as well as many other big names. Hundreds of bands performed in the largest live performance in all of human history.

Every single day, 30,000 children die, needlessly, of extreme poverty.

On July 6th, 2005, we finally have the opportunity to stop that shameful statistic.

8 world leaders, gathered in Scotland for the G8 summit, will be presented with a workable plan to double aid, drop the debt and make the trade laws fair. If these 8 men agree, then we will become the generation that made poverty history.

But they'll only do it if enough people tell them to.

That's why we're staging LIVE 8. 10 concerts, 100 artists, a million spectators, 2 billion viewers, and 1 message... To get those 8 men, in that 1 room, to stop 30,000 children dying every single day of extreme poverty.

We don't want your money - we want you!
