Lizzies

What is Lizzies?

1.

A slang term for the English currency of Sterling pounds. Americans have their "Benjamins" ($100 dollar bills/notes - derived from image of Benjamin Franklin on each one) so why not apply a universal term to English pounds? The term derives from Queen Elizabeth, as there is a depiction of her on every coin and note there is in the English currency. However, "Lizzies" solely refers to pounds (£s) and does not include pennys.

Yo honky, we gotsta keep on this paper chase and get dem Lizzies - my crib's crying out for a 42" plasma screen yo!

See gotsta, honky, benjamins, mushrooming, thugged out

2.

Slang for £Sterling, first.. err.. coined by Londoner SMIT1 in 1992.

"When the bumbayou gonna gimme my lizzies cha?"

"Greetings, I would like to withdraw 10,000 Lizzies from my Current Account."

"Yo where my lizzies at?"
