In World of Warcraft (or any other MMO), a spell/effect cast on another player which has no discernible benefit to that player, such as an Intellect buff on a Warrior.

Druid casts Arcane Intellect on Warrior.

Warrior: Uh.. thanks.

Druid: lolbuffs!
