What is Lol-check?

To confirm that what you are laughing at is the same as what the other person is laughing at. It's purpose is to avoid a situation in which a person laughs at something (usually non-funny), and then you laugh; only to find out that they were laughing at something different. In which case, you have to play it off as if you knew that.
Person 1: I want to be with my boyfriend for a long time before I marry him, so I don't end up with 3 kids from 3 different guys like my mom.
Person 2: LMAO, I'm sorry but that is funny
Person 1: I know haha

Person 1: The thing about my mom?
Person 2: Yes
