The opposite of highfalutin. Punctiliously underachieving. Also describes intentional, authoritative misuse of words that one has heard others misuse.
emanate vs emulate: "I got real scared when the UFO landed in the forest I was patrolling. The lights eerily emulated out of the trees." and "I really admire that man and I try to emanate him in my life."
