What is Maddigan?

(MAH-dee-gahn) a bland, white-bread American, usually pale and average-looking. An epithet applied by Italians, usually when encountering someone who is a picky eater or doesn't understand Italian families. (Essentially, this is just the word "American" said very fast, with a thick Italian accent.)
Stupid maddigan teacher can't pronounce my name!
Jimmy's new girlfriend is gorgeous, but she's just such a maddigan, she brought bottled dressing.
