What is Maiden Call?

The first call made with a telecommunication device. The call is usually made to someone of personal importance or if the device was a gift, the person who gave the gift.

Term first used in Seinfeld the episode of The Outing.

Jerry: I got a dial-tone! Ok, this is the maiden call.

Kramer: Wait, wait I want to get the first call.
