Manchor

What is Manchor?

1.

A rock climbing term derived from a combination of the words Manky and Anchor. A manchor is any rock climbing anchor, that is of dubious quality. Manchors often consist of 50 year old fixed pins, rusty 1/4" bolts, micro nuts, or a single tiny/rotten/dead tree trunk.

"The descent from that climb is pretty damn sketchy. Last time we had to rappel off this manchor that only consisted of a sinlge 1/4"er and an ancient ring pin."
