The state of Maryland that has an identity crisis. The people in the state do not know whether they belong in the North or the South.
In southern part of Maryland, NASCAR is king. Yet in Montgomery County, it is a bedroom community of Government Bureaucrats, many with their origins from the North.
Yet Maryland was a slave state but remained in the Union during the Civil War. Talk about split personality there!
A Southerner: "So you driving up to Maryankee?"
A Northerner: "So you're calling me a Yankee just cuz I live in Maryland? It's not really part of the North."
