(Pronounced: mat-jee) A made up word for a dude that acts sooooooooooo homophobic that you just know he's in the closet and it's all a front. In essence, it's synonymous with gay, fag, or homo. You can use this word without anyone but you and your friends knowing what you're talking about.

That dude is matje! OR Shut up you matje! OR Let's go matje-tipping tonight. OR That guy is a butt matje.
