Matthew 10:34

What is Matthew 10:34?

1.

A crazed passage from the Biblewhere Jesus declares that he is not here to bring peace, but the sword. Funnily enough, it completely contradicts what he says in Matthew 26:52, where he tells his disciples to put down their swords, as "all who draw the sword will die by the sword".

Matthew 10:34 (NIV)

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man's enemies will be the members of his own household."
