A barely passable virus scanning program that updates at the worst possible times. Tends to render your computer completely useless whenever it starts an update (which it doesn't ask to start and you can't cancel or pause) or starts a virus scan automatically (which it doesn't ask to start). You would probably be better off getting something like Ad-Aware, which has done more for me than McAfee.
McAfee updates at horrible times, almost like the creators want you to die.
User: *starts up important program*
53 minutes later, still doing something important.
McAfee: Hey, that guy is doing important things. We should update now so his computer won't be able to do anything!
*starts update*
User: OH GODDAMMIT MCAFEE UPDATE!!!
*Bluescreen*
User: FUCK! THAT IMPORTANT THING IS DUE IN AN HOUR AND I DIDN'T SAVE IT!

Security suite used for computers. One of the better suites to use for security, McAfee has antivirus, a firewall, a privacy service, and a spam killer. It's more than just that, it blocks hackersand port attacks, rendering your computer secure. If a hacker actually attacked your computer and got away with it, there is a backtrace feature which gives you intel on the suspect. It gives you the IP addressand the location of the data transfer. McAfee does not have any option of a permanent subscription with free updates, it goes by limited subscriptions, much like a magazine. It comes in a 90 day or 3 month subscription, and a 36 month or 3 year subscription. There is also a 15 month subscription and other subscriptions. Every Dellcomputer or notebook comes with either a 3 month, 15 month, or 36 month subscription, and free automatic updates throughout. The new security center has more advanced features, like a parental control which denies access to certain websites and filters out inappropriate content on websites. It also detects inappropriate words and denies access to searching with that keyword. Many people say this is better than Norton, however, the lack of automatic tracking cookiedeletion is not that great. It is recommended to use AVG Anti- Spyware in combination with McAfee to ensure total security. A virus scan deletes tracking cookies as well, but AVG's resident shield can automatically delete cookies, almost eliminating the need for scans. And best of all, once AVG is paid for, it lasts for life with free upgrades as well.

McAfee has advantages to security that Norton does not.
