This maneuver in volleyball includes hitting the ball with with the palm of both of the person's hand while extending the arms straight out. The object of this manuever is to protect the playing from getting hit with the ball aswell as making sure the ball does not make it over the net. This method can be used to make sure one does not catch anything coming towards him or herself.
