What is Mehicide?
1.
Death caused by a failure to respond decisively to a (usually easily preventable) life or death situation, precipitated by indifference towards its outcome. Mehicide is distinguished from homicide and suicide by its absence of malice towards victim(s) or self.
Mark's death was ruled a mehicide after neighbors reported that he blankly gazed into the distance as he froze to death on his front door steps.
