The insane guardian of the world of Mirrodin. memnarch was a golem who mutilated himself into a monsterous crab-legged robot. He desired to ascend into a planeswalker, and created a giant device that killed everthing on Mirrodin to fuel his accension. He was stopped by Glissa sunseeker, but at the cost of both thier lives. This action restored life to everyone on Mirrodin.
