When you see something so spectacular and amazing, it is burnt in your memory. So you never forget it. It could possibly be the opposite, if you see something that is horrendously disgusting!

Source is from a Seinfeld episode (S03E05) when Seinfeld tells Kramer about an amazing girl in a orange dress he dated.

Seinfeld: .. this orange dress.. just burned in my memory..

Kramer: ooh, memory burn! *grins*
