What is Mexican Pretender?

A person of mainly or full Mexican descent who fancies himself/herself as a Native American in order to gain status, usually based on similair features and/or surnames.
A slang-term for Native Americans to put down other Native Americans by implying they are "half breeds" or not true Native Americans. Also used to imply inferiority.
"The Salgados shouldn't even live on the reservation, theyre just Mexican pretenders"
