One of the Istari (Wizards) in Tolkien's works. Also Called Gandalf.

Derivative of the elvish words "mith" meaning grey and "randir" meaning pilgrim or wanderer.

A name made up by the elves as an endearment to the wizard Gandalffrom Lord of the rings.
