What is Modestrian?

(mo-destrian) A mobile pedestrian. A problem has risen in the fact that the word "handicapped" has become a broad term used for anyone with any various type of impairment. Modestrian means specifically a person that is completely restricted to a wheelchair.
There is a grassroots movement among many New York City residents to remove the handicapped status of parking spots, and to replace it with modestrian only parking signs. This will create available parking for the handicapped citizens that truly need the close proximity parking (those contained to a wheelchair aka modestrians).
Christopher Reeve was a modestrian because he was handicapped to the point that his only mobility came from being in a wheelchair.
There is modestrian rugby leagues around the country. This is known as murderball or wheelchair rugby.
