What is Monkey Button?

An over sized button used in the user interface of a software application. Although rising in popularity as monitor resolutions increase, some purists see them as a decadent waste of screen real estate and yearn for the simpler and more cerebral era of keyboard short-cuts and drop-down menus.

A monkey button is my term for any tool, program, script, thingamajig, that let's you essentially push a button to complete some repetitive task. Simplifying an otherwise complicated task into something any monkey can do. The ultimate monkey button is one that doesn't even require a monkey. It just runs itself, going off at some predetermined interval.
Dude, you can fire spots on both radio stations with this monkey button I made!

A.K.A. - Shocker.
There does exist a slight variation between Monkey Button and the Shocker. The practice and form one uses is the same, however, the reaction one gets from the shockie is reminiscent of the sound of a monkey (oh! oh!)
After a killer set, Shandy found a nice backstage betty who never has experienced the shocker. Shandy was very happy to finally work the monky button.
