What is Moresco?

Moresco: The Italian word for Barbary macaques, the monkeys that inhabit the Rock of Gibraltar in Spain. Originally native to Northern Morocco and Algeria, they are the only macaques found in Africa. The word Moresco derives from the Monkeys' origins in Morocco.
