What is Movie Buddy?

when a guy (or girl) tells you they don't see you as dating material a.k.a. having a platonic relationship with you, but they need someone to see movies with and that person is you.
example 1:
you: do you want to go to the movies again?
him: i don't see you and i dating.
you: well, i'm just asking you to the
movies.
him: i do need a movie buddy.
example 2:
you: he said he only sees me as a "movie
buddy" because he doesn't see himself
dating me.
friend: that means he's expecting some
nookie after the movie.
you: if i'm his movie buddy that's all i am
so he's not getting any nookie after
the movie.
