What is Muntin?

The inner frame of a window, ususally made of wood or plastic, either separatin each pane of glass or giving the appearance of panes for a single large piece of glass.

The 6 over 9 window is made up of 6 panes of glass and 9 panes of glass each separated by a muntin.
