The VERY FIRST Ford Mustang was a driving showcar called the Mustang 1. It was a midengine two seater.

Dear FORD,

The Ford GT is too expensive! Please revive the Mustang 1 concept and put it into production. Mercury could have a mechanically identical, but different looking Capri, and Lincoln a Pantera.

MERCURY CAPRI = 4 & 6 cylinders (priced like 6 & 8cyl Stangs)

MUSTANG 1 = V8 (priced between Stang & Vette)

PANTERA = V10 (priced between Vette & Viper)
