A "name name" is a name that is common and/or unexciting. The word grouping "name name" was coined in mid-2004 in Canada by a young female wordsmith after downing a potent libationary beverage after a long shift at work.
Emily, the most popular baby name for girls in 2003 (according to the U.S. Social Security Administration), is a name name.

Here is a short list of name names that you should avoid when naming children. Below are examples of very common names, 15 for each gender. Variations in spelling or pronounciation do not make these names acceptable. Also, do not feel limited by this list. In fact, if you know more than three or four people with a name you want to name your child, you should probably avoid said name.
Girls: Emily, Sarah, Brittany, Rachel, Jessica, Catelyn, Nichole, Danielle, Christina, Samantha, Hannah, Lauren, Katherine, Allison, Jennifer
