An area where parents place their children (usually between the ages of 2 and 5) for several minutes (one minute per year of age) as a punishment for intolerable and unruly behavior. The naughty spot could usually be the corner of any room.
A 4 year-old boy was placed on the naughty spot for 4 minutes because he was continuously calling his mother dirty names and throwing objects around.
