What is Netwatcher?

(1) often pejorative. Compulsive websurfers who rely on Internet resources as their sole source of information. Often carries a connotation of anti-elitism and a disdain for more tradional "paper-based" sources such as newspapers, encyclopedias, research papers, peer-review publications, or books.

(2) Professional commentators - marketing and media specialists - who track online trends, netiquette, and usage patterns in order to identify changes in behavioural patterns

Militant Wikipedia fans make up a particlarly virulent cult of Netwatchers.
