Someone that is new at something and has no idea what they are doing, but has potential to learn
Originated from the root n00b
Not as harsh a connotation as its preceding morpheme due to the fact that it is combined with the word "amateur"; emphasizing the fact that, unlike the actual meaning of the word n00b, the noobateur has the capability and desire to learn whatever it is that they do not currently know
Noobateur: "We had to restart Resident Evil 5 on medium because it was too difficult on hard."
