What is Ocean Grove, Nj?
1.
Known as "God's Square Mile", this little town on the beach was founded in the 1800's as a Methodist resort. Despite the religious tradition of the town, the kids of Ocean Grove are usually fooling around with intoxicants and each other every night on the boardwalk.
The town is a National Historic Site because it has the highest density of Victorian homes from the 1800's. It is famous for the Great Auditorium, a large buidling built in 1894 that seats over 6,500 people. Not only that, but each summer, 114 families come to live in tents for the entire season. It is so old fashioned that walking down the streets of Ocean Grove is like being in a time warp. But beware: it is a dry town that does not allow alcohol to be sold or drank in public. That hasn't seemed to stop the teenagers though. Ironically, some of the wildest parties occur right on their beaches.
"So what are we doing tonight?"
"Same thing we do every night pinky, get drunk on the beach of Ocean Grove, NJ.."
"Oh, true, but I'm going to be a little late, I'm going to the Church Service in the Auditorium first"
"Oh, awesome, we'll go together, then after Church we can get high!"
"Yay!"
