1: As opposed to nu metal, any heavy metal music from the time peroiod of metal's beginnings, to the beginning of the nu metal trend.
2: Heavy metal music of any time period that is true to the early metal styles.
Fans of olde metal may prefer Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden rather than Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park.
