What is On The Slab?

The slab is a slang term for an autopsy table. Being on the slab would be a slang term for somebody being dead. Used in "Silence of the Lambs" by Hannibal lector to the senator.
"Tell me mom, when your little girl is on the slab, where will it tickle you?"
