What is Otacon?

The partner of ex-US soldier Solid Snake in their international anti-terrorist activities. Otacon provides operational support, while Solid Snake physically executes the missions. Otacon's real name is Dr. Hall Emmerich. He first appeared in the video game Metal Gear Solid.

A word formed by combining "Otaku" and "Convention". Dr. Hal Emmerich, the engineer who was the team leader in the Metal Gear Rex project, uses this word as his nickname.

combining the words "otaku" (as in someone who likes anime and sci-fi) and "convention" (as in a gathering of people under one base intrest... mostly nerds). the name of a conneticuit based sci-fi/anime/comic convention, that was used as the alias of Dr. Hal Emmerich in the metal gear solid series of games.

although otacon is an invaluable sidekick and amazing hacker for solid snake in MGS, he's a pants wetter and a bit of a crybaby.
