What is Pallet Grinding?

The annoying habit of speaking from deep in the back of the throat thus creating a sort of gravely tone. Most easily noticeable when done by women as it lowers the tone of their voice as well.
Tim "Jenny is a pallet grinder, it drives me crazy!"
