Panto

What is Panto?

1.

panto: based on the English Pantomime theater.

Plots are often loosely based on traditional children's stories and are overly dramatised to the point that members of the audience often stab themselves in the face to make it all go away.

A common Pantomime scene includes the following..

"where is he?!" (character hides behind other character)

"behind you!" (audience scream)

"wheeeeeere?"

"BEHIND YOU!"

when something is panto - it's something that's being enjoyed by someone far too old to enjoy it without making onlookers feel dirty.

for example, if a grown man orders a happy meal. panto.

or if a 36 yo tries to get some alone time with a 17 yo. totally panto.

it was born out of the extremely suspicious english theatre called pantomime with dialogues like:

"where is he??... '

"look behind you! he's behind you!!!"

"where?"

"behind you!!"

check out that guy ordering a happy meal... totally panto!
