Thin, straight, closely spaced young trees that grow up in a clearcut or other place where trees have been removed. Often poplars aka popples aka aspen. Heard in Vermont.
"Jeezum crow, Len, we gotta clear out them pecker poles wicked soon so's we can get the rig up in there before the ground thaws!"
