What is Pfaffism?
1.
1 the religious practice or ethical logic based on the teachings or musical proverbs of a certain musical professor at SUNY Plattsburgh and designating him as a minor deity in the order of musical gods and goddesses.
2 a phrase characteristic of said professor from Plattsburgh, NY often but not necessarily relating to counterpoint or the academic study of Classical Music. Examples may include “That’s a sexy texture in that counterpoint,” “Many things will become clear for you this weekend,” or, after talking about Wagner's 25 year opera, “it's a wonder if you live that long, you could've been run over by a meat wagon.”
“As a recent convert to Pfaffism, Sarah was ready to share the good news of Cadential Six-Fours with anyone willing to listen."
